Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi confirmed, after his meeting with President Joseph Aoun, that the negotiations are devoid of any sacrifice or neglect of Lebanon’s rights, stressing that President Aoun does not accept this matter, adding: “We have had enough destruction, devastation, and wars.”
Al-Rai indicated that he discussed with President Aoun the humanitarian corridors for the steadfast people in the villages of the south, to ensure that aid of all kinds reaches them. He added: "We also touched on the army file, and the army commander is firmly in place, and everyone must support him."
Al-Rahi stressed that “the President of the Republic is the president of all of Lebanon, and he does not speak in the name of the Maronites, but in the name of all the Lebanese,” considering that “President Aoun’s speech embodies the content of the oath he took before the House of Representatives.”
Al-Rahi believed that “negotiations must take place,” stressing that “President Aoun was clear in his speech, and stressed not to give up any right.”
